Douglass Sloan is Principal and senior political analyst at National Capitol Strategy Group, (NCSG) in Washington, DC. In that capacity Douglass regularly provides on-air, in depth political analysis of local and national news for various news networks, like Al Jazeera, TRT World, TV One's News One with Roland Martin, Voice of America Television, ABC's News 8 News Talk and WHUR’s The Daily Drum with Harold Fisher.
NCSG also specializes in government relations and provides lobbying services to businesses, non-profits and community development corporations in the Washington Metropolitan area. In that capacity Douglass as served as a lobbyist for Sprint, CVS Caremark, Direct Energy, Safeway, the National Association of Chain Drug Stores, the Barden Companies, H Street Music Festival, Humes McCoy Aviation and the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians.
Civically, Douglass worked as Outreach Coordinator for the Mayor’s Office of Community Affairs in Washington, DC. There he served as a business liaison and led outreach projects into the community. Douglass also worked as Legislative Analyst for the Judiciary Committee on the DC City Council where he drafted legislation, prepared committee reports and worked with industry representatives and agency directors on various legislative initiatives.
Politically, Douglass worked as a field coordinator for Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), and worked as an advisor on former DC Mayor Adrian Fenty’s campaign. Douglass served as campaign manager for DC Chamber of Commerce President and former Councilmember Vincent Orange on his At-Large DC City Council campaigns and worked as a fundraiser for Councilmember Anita Bonds. Douglass was elected to public office in Washington as an Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner in Ward Four where he served as Vice-Chair for ANC 4A and as Chair and Treasurer of ANC 4B. Douglass was also the vice-president of the DC Young Democrats and served as Ex-Officio member of the DC Democratic State Committee.
Douglass currently serves as first vice-president of the DC NAACP and is immediate past chair of the Political Action Committee for the DC NAACP. Douglass was also appointed to serve on the Mayor’s Martin Luther King Jr., Day Commission by DC Mayor Vincent Gray.
Douglass is a native Washingtonian. He graduated from St. John's College High School, and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Communications with a minor in Political Science from American University. Douglass lives with his family in Northwest Washington.
Kyle Smitz, MFA, MBA, MSc, PMP is business polymath and entrepreneur with a passion for public service. Kyle is presently the Chairman of the Events and Volunteerism Committee for Mayor Bowser's Advisory Board for Veteran's Affairs. Kyle serves as the National Director and Vice-Chairman of Veterans United for DC Statehood, organizing veterans across the country. Kyle's additional work includes producing an expert panel on cybersecurity at the US Senate as a HillVets LEAD Defense policy protégé, and reviewing technology investments at the National Science Foundation.
Kyle relocated to Washington as a technology portfolio manager for the US Department of State under Secretary Kerry’s Veteran Innovation Partnership before launching Smitz Laboratories and joining NCSG. He previously worked on the X-59 silent supersonic research project for NASA.
Kyle served in the US Army overseas as a global logistics manager, including Army air operations at Baghdad International Airport and Ramstein Air Force Base. Kyle worked with coalition military and government agencies to manage movements, certified hazardous cargo, and managed customs and diplomatic clearances to assist in deploying over 220,000 personnel and 140,000 short tons of cargo in support of humanitarian missions during Joint Task Force-East missions.
A lifetime technology entrepreneur, Kyle launched a handful of internet companies and worked as a consultant before his military service. His government clients as a software development consultant included the NYPD and the NYC Dept of Finance.
Kyle remains politically active, and committed to civic engagement.
Kyle hold Masters degrees from Georgetown University and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in International Business and Policy (MFA), Business Admnistration (MBA), and is a Project Management (MSc) Professional (PMP).
Keith has worked on Democratic campaigns in several states since 2003.
In his early professional career, Keith worked on a New Jersey Legislature race, Howard Dean's Iowa campaign, Ben Chandler's 2004 special election campaign in Kentucky and for America Coming Together in Tampa, Florida before moving to New Jersey where he worked on Jon Corzine's 2005 Gubernatorial campaign, Bob Menendez's 2006 US Senate campaign and multiple county and municipal races in north Jersey. He has worked on campaigns in Louisiana and New York and in 2007 he was Jefferson County Field Director for Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear and in 2008 he managed Jack Evans Ward 2 DC Council campaign. In 2010 Keith consulted on Kelvin Robinson's Ward 6 Council campaign and in 2011 on Vincent Orange's At-Large special election.
Keith's specialty in politics is general political strategy, field operations, targeting, voter contact, message development, staff training, new media strategy and in-house comic relief. Keith provides extensive services in various methods of voter contact, including direct mail, phones and comprehensive canvassing programs.
